Eastern Current Review

Editorial policy

Eastern Current Review aims to make freshwater landscapes easier to understand without overstating what a general explanation can establish. We use plain language, distinguish interpretation from fact and make room for correction.

Accuracy and care

We check factual statements against suitable references before publication and take care with definitions, geographic terms and diagrams. Where a subject varies by place or conditions, we say so rather than making a universal claim. Articles are educational, not instructions for managing water, land or infrastructure.

Independence

Editorial decisions are made for relevance and clarity, not to secure a favourable mention for a partner. A collaboration does not guarantee coverage, and commercial arrangements do not determine conclusions.

Corrections

Readers can report a possible error through the Contact page. We assess the point, amend material when warranted and make the correction clear in the article where appropriate.

Partner material and illustrations

Paid, supplied or otherwise partner-supported material is labelled so readers can distinguish it from independent editorial work. Some illustrations are AI-generated; when they are, we identify them as such and do not present them as documentary photographs.

Our point of view

Water leaves clues in the land.

Look at the channel, the surrounding ground and the route downstream. Each offers a different clue; none tells the whole story alone.
